Linda Banfy, a native of Ohio, began her piano studies at the age of 5. She received her Master of Music in Piano Performance from Texas Christian University where she studied with Cliburn gold medalist Steven DeGroote and had an assistantship in accompanying. She received her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from DePauw University. She has been on the Texas Christian University Music Preparatory Division faculty since 1987 and teaches private piano lessons. A member of the Fort Worth Music Teachers Association and Music Teachers National Association since 1987, she has served as Co-Chairman of the annual Fall & Jazz Festivals for over 15 years, Treasurer for 6 years and has been an adjudicator for many local contests & festivals. As well as teaching, Linda has also been on the accompanying staff and has performed on many Graduate as well as Undergraduate student recitals over the years.
In addition to her teaching and accompanying work, Linda is the Texas Christian University Music Preparatory Division Librarian and has many years of experience working for Certified Public Accountants and was the Bookkeeper for Ridglea Music for over 10 years. She began working as Administrative Assistant to Derek Moffatt in September of 2011 and is now a client service associate for Moffatt Financial Strategies.
